This painting reflects the Yuin Dreaming Story of our origins and our destinations - where we come from and where we go. The Yuin people believe the male spirits of warriors past reincarnate into the killer whales, Gawura. We share a very special bond with these beautiful creatures of the ocean. When the Yuin women pass they become stars leading the way for us here on earth. And so this painting is the story of where our spirits travel to when they leave this earth and return home.
