This is a painting of Kevin’s saltwater spirit, swimming through the calm waters of his ancestors. It is a tranquil, colourful place to be; buoyed by the company of fellow ocean lovers, all at different stages of the journey, but all heading for home.

This piece was one of Kevin’s very early creations, when he was experimenting with colour and form. It is a beautiful combination of the ocean blues and the earth greens, suggestive of his traditional Yuin ancestors who lived on the south coast of NSW. Yuin are saltwater people and the ocean features prominently in Kevin’s art.

There has always been a transfer of knowledge, ideas, objects and stories of the everyday and sacred, coursing over hundreds and often thousands of kilometres of this big, beautiful Country.
