Kevin created this special painting for his new found Aunty. His hands are the focus of this work, communicating the everlasting bond between kin that is formed deep within our spirits and joins us to our ancestors, even the ones we have never physically met. There is also the representation of yarning circles on both hands. Central to Aboriginal culture, this is where we form relationships, learn from one another, build respect, and share knowledge. Kevin found his lost family and culture late in life. At their first family meeting, by the beach, they instinctively formed a closed circle of greeting and exchange of story. In this painting, Kevin expressed the imprint that meeting made on his Spirit.
